Violalex Alexander Meyen is a looping artist from Cologne. He performs in churches, festivals and other events and venues, using different violins, looping devices and special effects. He is also a street artist. In these shows he combines elements from Indian and Arabic music with jazz and world music. Looped sequences fill the space and seem to dissolve in it. He often uses minimalistic sounds, produced spontaneously in real time, which take form and are then transformed from improvisation to composition.
